ABOUT

HOSHI + ATO - from the Japanese for STAR + ART. As a femme photographer I channel a sensual gaze through my lens, capturing the things that intrigue me most.

Since 2015 I have worked with a hugely diverse range of models of all skill levels and backgrounds. This has made me confident in my direction ability to both help guide new models and to get the most out of experienced ones who want to experiment with their style. Likewise, I am confident working in both a studio setting and on location.

I specialise in portrait/fashion/glam/alternative photography but also extend my trade to product and food photography. I am comfortable with most ideas and love collaborating with clients to get the most out of both their ideas and shoot time.

Working across mixed media, with a focus on photography, graphic design and creative direction, HOSHIATO has exhibited artworks both locally and internationally.

The artist holds a Bachelor of Design Arts (Graphic Design/Visual Arts) from LCI Melbourne and a Master of Arts (Art History/Art Curatorship) from The University of Melbourne. Hoshiato is currently undertaking a PhD research program in the field of Media and Communication at RMIT, focussing on expressions of sexuality within the digital sphere."
